The Seeds of Sunshine project is a national project which runs throughout the year, but we have declared the 9th of March 2023 “National seeds of sunshine day”. It is in memory of Gladys van Wyk, our community angel from Rawsonville who devoted her whole life towards the children and elderly in her community. Gladys was a pillar in her community even in her last days.
We encourage people to pack a bag with all things yellow, and give it to someone in your community to say thank you to those whose humble work often goes unnoticed (social workers, newspaper seller, refuse removal workers, lady who runs a soup kitchen, municipality workers who clean the drains / streets, the lady that cleans the bathrooms at your local petrol station, etc). Fill it up with Jelly Tots, NikNaks / Lays, Tex / Lunch Bar, Banana, Juice, etc and brighten up somebody’s day.
