|| PRESS RELEASE || Click away and make some girl child’s day!

Care Protect Invest South Africa (SA) recognizes the International Day of the Girl Child and in honour of this today launches their online shopping portal: Click away and make some child’s day!

“Girl’s around the world faces numerous unique challenges throughout their childhood. When you do not have the love, support and financial backing of a family the needs and desires are so much more!” says Dinah Bronkhorst, executive head of Care Protect Invest SA.

Care Protect Invest SA runs numerous sustainable programmes and projects addressing the social and physical needs of children countrywide. The holistic approach of their unique foster care model — offering them a stable home and a fighting chance in life — pioneers how broken children can be healed and shaped for the outside world. The non-profit organisation however cannot operate without funding and public engagement.

“Sometimes when you give with your heart, you want to experience the impact and gratitude. Care Protect Invest SA now offers you the option to buy specific products to donate, instead of giving money. And you will be notified when we distribute the products so that you can experience how you have made someone’s heart happy or their life easier,” Bronkhorst explains.

The current need they will be addressing is to collect clothing, underwear, toiletries, hair accessories and hats for children staying in their foster care homes or using the aftercare facility in Rawsonville. The specific needs are outlined on their website (LINK). The process to partake works as follows:

  1. Browse the online shop.
  2. Identify which product you would like to donate, select it and checkout.  It is important to fill in your details so that you can be notified and see how your contribution has made a difference on social media.
  3. Care Protect Invest SA will make sure the products reaches the targeted individuals.
  4. Please share the progress of projects and initiatives so that we can promote the transparent process of donating.

The theme for this year’s Girl Child Day is: My voice, our equal future. Care Protect Invest  SA would therefor also like to invite businesses to contribute towards their treasury fund. By offering bursaries and interest-free study loans this initiative genuinely helps young, aspiring South Africans to reach their full potential.

“Our professional team will help you set up a unique scholarship programme and assist you in managing the corporate and financial aspects thereof. Apart from changing someone’s life story, bursary programmes are an effective and sustainable solution in adding value to a company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) https://cpi-sa.org.za/csr/ portfolio. Not to mention the tax benefit you can receive by making this annual donation.”

Bags of Mercy Initiative

South Africa has one of the highest rates of violence against women (GBV). The Bags of Mercy Initiative mobilises women to become an invisible friend to an abused woman by gifting a handbag – old or new – filled with things that can make her rediscover her self-worth.

Abuse against women usually takes place behind closed doors:
Hard words where no-one else can hear.
Blows where no-one can see it.
