CPI SA stel Foster Care Club vir Suid-Afrikaanse pleegouers bekend

CPI SA introduces Foster Care Club for South African foster parents

In celebration of International Foster Care Month during May, Care Protect Invest – South Africa (CPI SA) launched the Foster Care Club for South African foster parents.

The club will serve as a platform to connect foster parents. Parents can send questions and messages through the platform and share their thoughts and challenges around foster care with parents in the same situation.

“The challenges foster parents face are unique, and the ‘normal’ rules around raising kids need to be adjusted,” says Dinah Bronkhorst, the executive head of CPI SA. “We experience that foster parents often need a sounding board to discuss issues around foster child care. With the Foster Care Club, they will now have the opportunity to that.”

CPI SA plans to discuss the issues which come to the fore through the club, in a monthly newsletter, as a tool for other foster parents.

“The platform is only one of a series of initiatives CPI SA is undertaking to support poverty relieve in South Africa,” says Bronkhorst. “With our Toekomstuiste foster homes, we give children – who would otherwise only disappear in the system – the chance at a bright future. Each project we undertake aims to better the lives of the most vulnerable members of society.
