Second chances for more than just our foster children…

At Care Protect Invest South Africa (CPI SA) we kicked February off with a bang. We started an online shop on Facebook where we sell unwanted items that was donated to us. Our Facebook page name is Second Chance (https://www.facebook.com/secondchancecpisa). You can like and follow our page for bargains and treasures from a forgotten era.

The reason we called our Facebook page “Second Chance” is because this is a platform where it is not just forgotten items that gets to have a new home and purpose, this also enables us to help fund our foster homes. Foster care homes where we give children a second chance. It is here where we aim to change every foster care facility into a home where children can thrive and become superb human beings.

How does it work?

This is the easy part! It is as easy as one, two, three.

One: You decide what gets donated – anything is welcome, furniture, clothes, house items, baby furniture etc.

Two: Contact Lean Jacobs on 078 120 5812 to arrange a pick-up. Yes, we even pick-up your unwanted items from your home or office in the Johannesburg and Pretoria area.

Three: After your unused items have been collected, we do a price estimate and items gets advertised and sold on Facebook. The profit we make selling your unwanted items is used to fund a foster care home. Our aim is to change every foster care facility into a home where children can thrive and become superb human beings.

Contact them today and start the year a little lighter!

Bags of Mercy Initiative

South Africa has one of the highest rates of violence against women (GBV). The Bags of Mercy Initiative mobilises women to become an invisible friend to an abused woman by gifting a handbag – old or new – filled with things that can make her rediscover her self-worth.

Abuse against women usually takes place behind closed doors:
Hard words where no-one else can hear.
Blows where no-one can see it.

Be a Santa to someone Project

Each Christmas we strive to surprise the children at our foster care homes and caring facilities with a special gift. CPI-SA asks the public to give a little piece of their heart by getting involved in the annual “Be-Santa-To-Someone” project. This way you can easily warm a child’s heart and put a cheer into an unfortunate child’s Christmas stocking.

More information will follow closer to Christmas. Please subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop!
